Fall Decor Update 2016

TRUTH: I have struggled to be motivated to decorate our current home. Although we love the home we are currently in, I don’t feel a sense of permanency here. We live in a permanent nomadic state with my husbands job. It’s very likely we will move again. Much of the Decor I had from our last home remains in boxes in the garage. Quite frankly I have felt like “what’s the point”. But truth is I enjoy home decor and not decorating keeps me in a place of disconnect. In lieu, I have decided to go room to room for the next month and “freshen up” the look. I will use a combination of old, new, crafted, and nearly new items.
So to kick this series off lets get started with our living room. And today our Fall Fireplace Mantel deco gets a touch up with Target Bullseye Playground Finds (formally knows as “dollar spot”). Great finds I encorporated (pictured below):
- Orange striped fabric pumpkin $10.00
- Burlap and Velum Banner $3.00
- Ceramic Pumpkins $3.00
- Lamp,Wood Geographic Cutout, large basket, clearance items-Target)
- Thankful Sign $3.00
- In this House Pic (Prev. purchase-Ross)
- Larmge mum $ 2.99 Aldi
CRAFT

These burlap banners are super cute and easily customizable. I simply wrote free hand letters on them with gold paint pens.

Aldi’s had mums this week for special purchase for only $2.99! I used scrap burlap I had to cover the pot and wrapped it with twine. Make sure to add a plastic drip pan to protect your surfaces from water. I used a disposable food storage container.

The most time consuming thing of every decor update is playing around with he placement of each item. I am big on mixing textured and colors within spaces and getting the right placement takes some time for this OCDish decorator.
However this Fall Update was super quick and easy! What are your plans for you holiday deco?

These fabric pumkins could be easily created with fabric of your choice, spray adhesive and paper mache pumpkins also sold at Target for 6.00 or any craft store.

I wanted to include decorations that could transition into Thanksgiving deco. I plan to turn this ceramic jack-o-lantern pumkin around after Halloween. This was also found in dollar spot for $3.00 and even comes with a led light!
